4Sight: Managing Burnout

Courses/programs dealing with burnout are not uncommon and they tend to deal with the similar approaches to solving the problem including;

  • Self-care: decompressing, exercising, meditating/mindfulness, eating and sleeping well.
  • Connect: looking for peer-support, building camaraderie, talking to your boss.
  • Reduce stressors: saying no, avoiding difficult situations even if just temporarily.
  • Shift perspective: positive thinking, reviewing goals, realigning expectations.

While these areas are important to focus on and are covered in the seminar, the key difference in the 4Sight approach is looking at what leads to burnout. In other words, what are the thought patterns, what is the behavior and, most importantly - as these fixes are normally self-evident - why are participants not availing themselves of these options?

We have found that, time and time again, it is not that people don't know what to do, it is that they are unable to do it. Our unique self-esteem and self-confidence behavior heuristic speaks to the root of our taking constructive action. We help people find the desire to help themselves, then give them the ability to do that. We empower people to do what is best for them.
